Women’s Cross Country Finishes 18th at Dickinson Long-Short

NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's cross country team came in 18th place out of 19 scoring teams in Saturday's Dickinson College Long-Short Invitational, as the Lions competed in the event's 6K race at Big Spring High School.

Penn State Altoona compiled a team score of 196 to take 18th on the team leaderboard. Misericordia University won the 6K with nine points, Gettysburg College came in second with 32, and Washington & Jefferson College placed third with 35.

Kayla Crowe (Rockland County, NY/Clarkstown South) had the top finish for the Lions, clocking in at 29:03.4 to place 102nd out of 138 individual runners. Sharon Lin (Manhattan, NY/Beaver Dam) came in 108th place with a time of 29:59.1, and Veronica Benvenuto was 133rd after finishing in 39:58.7.

Penn State Altoona women's cross country returns to action on Saturday, October 11, when the Lions will travel to Schenley Park in Pittsburgh to compete in the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational. That day's race is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
