Men’s Soccer Takes Eighth Place in AMCC Preseason Poll

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona men's soccer was voted eighth in the 2018 edition of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Tuesday.

Penn State Behrend was voted into first place in the poll, while defending AMCC champion Medaille College was predicted to finish in second place. Mount Aloysius College came in third place.

Penn State Altoona finished with a 3-14 overall record in 2017, including a 2-7 record in the AMCC. Head coach Patrick "Moe" Taylor, who is embarking on his ninth year at the helm of the program, will look to guide a young roster through the 2018 season this fall.

Named as a "Player to Watch" in the poll for the Lions was senior forward Jordan Crist (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge). Last season, Crist tied for second on the team in goals scored (2) and was third on the team in shots on goal (12) and total shots (30).

Penn State Altoona men's soccer starts its 2018 schedule on Friday, August 31 with a home game against non-conference opponent Wilson College at 7:30 p.m.
