Women’s Soccer Defeated in AMCC Game of the Week
ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's soccer team hosted conference foe Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Game of the Week, and the Lions suffered a 5-0 loss.
Behrend (13-2, 6-0 AMCC) got goals from five different players while limiting Penn State Altoona (2-8-2, 2-2-1 AMCC) to two shot attempts in the game.
Adeline Baustert (Apollo, PA/Apollo-Ridge) notched her 12th start of the season at goalkeeper for the Lions and made 10 saves. Amanda Hazel (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) and Jordan Yaletsko (Philadelphia, PA/Philadelphia Academy Charter) each attempted a shot for Penn State Altoona.
The AMCC's leading goal scorer put her team in front less than two minutes into the first half, when Trinity Prestash's shot into the bottom left part of the goal gave Behrend a 1-0 lead at the 1:37 mark. Lizzie Hoff increased the visitors' advantage to 2-0 at 11:33, when she tapped the ball into the net at 11:33 following a corner kick.
Behrend went on to add three goals to its total during the second half, getting scores from Megan Krulisky, Audra Kuzma, and Emily Samluk to finish with a five-goal victory.
Penn State Altoona women's soccer gets back on the road for its next game, when the Lions will head to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, October 23, to face Carlow University. The start time of that contest, which will be played at Highmark Stadium, is set for 8 p.m.
