NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – After being announced as Penn State Altoona’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Monday, men’s golf and men’s tennis senior Jimmy Gillespie (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) was selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Male Faculty Athletics Representative Award recipient on Wednesday.

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona Athletics announced the recipients of its annual male and female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards on Monday, with men’s golf and men’s tennis senior Jimmy Gillespie (Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) and women’s volleyball senior Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) being selected for the department’s highest individual yearly recognition for a student-athlete.

ERIE, Pa. –Penn State Altoona men’s golf shaved 16 strokes off of Sunday’s team score during the second and final round of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships on Monday at Peek’n Peak Golf Resort, but it was not enough to overcome Penn State Behrend’s lead, as the Lions finished in second place.
